Cindy Russell

BIOGRAPHY

My name is Cynthia Sloan Russell, go by Cindy.  I grew up in Valdosta most of my life. I went to St. John School K-8, then graduated from Valdosta High School.    My husband Richard L. Russell and I have been married for 38 years and we have 4 children: Jason, who is a chef, Stephanie, who is a teacher in Moultrie, Sloan, a student in Tallahassee, and then Sarah Marie, a student at VSU.  Then there are GRANDCHILDREN!! Richard and I have 5 grandchildren and I am sure there will be more:)

After I got married, my husband and I moved from Valdosta, then 34 years later moved back to Valdosta to help with an aging parent. We also wanted to be closer to children and grandchildren.

I have worked ever since I was 14 years old, starting off babysitting, then Dairy Queen all through my high school years, worked in the medical field for 15 years.  Then I started working in the education field as a secretary, teacher subbing and librarian when my younger two started elementary school. I then taught Pre K the past two years here at St. John School.

I attend Crossroads Baptist Church where I sing in the choir, teach 3rd Sunday School, and help with the children’s choir.

I enjoy being outside, playing card games, refinishing furniture, and helping my son with prepping and doing cooking events.
