Julie Savoie

BIOGRAPHY

I have been the music teacher and band director at St. John Catholic School since 2009. Prior to my teaching at SJCS, I worked for Valdosta City Schools for two years and for six months in Muscogee County in Columbus, Ga.

I grew up in Hinesville, Ga and came to Valdosta to attend college. I received my Bachelor of Music Education in 2000 and Master of Music Education in 2002, both from Valdosta State University. My primary instrument is trumpet and I performed in many of the various ensembles at Valdosta State University, including the Valdosta Symphony Orchestra.

I am married to Dr. Mike Savoie and I am the parent of two students, Natalie and Dennis, who have attended SJCS since K4 and K3 respectively. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, singing, traveling and spending time with my family.
